In hunting, what is the point of wearing camo if you also wear an orange vest?

Why does it matter if your arms and legs blend into the foliage if your torso is wearing something designed to make it stand out? I understand the safety purpose of the vest, but since you're clearly not going to be camouflaged, why not just put the vest over normal clothes?
Thanks for the responses! If the animals you're hunting are colorblind, then why wear the camo at all? Is it because the camoflage pattern conceals you even if the deer sees overlapping splotches of grey rather than splotches of green/brown, because the splotches emulate the texture of the forest?
Wearing hunter orange has done nothing statistically to reduce injury from hunting related accidents. That's why the majority of the states have not mandated it as "the Law" what it does do is it makes it easier for the game wardens, none hunters or PETA's to locate you to either avoid you or harass you or check you to make sure you have not violated any laws. I never wear it and have difficult problems as it is with PETA types following me when I enter the woods. Now I use a take down bow stashed in my pack and dress like a yuppie city hiker. I can now get to my tree-stand in peace and avoid all the hassles.
