Love your Reflection with Halogen Lights
You know those times you stare at your reflection in the bathroom mirror and wonder if everyone else can see every pimple, shadow and facial flaw that you see staring back at you? You wonder "is that how I really look or is it my reflection I see in my bedroom?" Good news - you can blame it on the lighting.
Recent Studies are proving more and more that Lighting affects the way we look. This explains why sometimes Obama looks dashing giving a speech on TV, and sometimes he looks downright green. Or why we are looking great in our bedroom mirror, but when we step into our bathroom, we're staring at the reflection of some washed-out, funny-lookingcreature.That's becuase, for most of us, our bathrooms are awash in artificial lighting. Standard light fixtures that use any number of different types of incandescent light bulbs can be found in tens of thousands of bathrooms across the land. Bathrooms seem to be the most neglected when it comes to lighting.
However it shouldn't be; because you need a bathroom full of light and of the right kind of light when it comes to the all-important task of grooming.As we all know, when you look good, you feel good, and you feel better about yourself. What you may have not known is that light is a type of nourishment, similar to food.Insufficient light can make us ill, while the right amount of light can keep us healthy. Thus, the best light for health and well being is full-spectrum light because it allows all the colors contained within the light spectrum to nourish us.
Different bulbs produce noticeable color spectrums ranging from a warmish golden hue to a blistering white light, as you might experience outdoors at high noon on a cloudless day in the mountains. Incandescent lighting brings out warm tones while fluorescent lighting brings out cool tones. The newer halogen and energy-efficient fluorescent bulbs create a different palette of color, and give off a brighter, whiter light than their counterparts, resulting in a more natural – looking light.
As Designer Jill Sharp Brinson says "I love natural light EVERYWHERE — for me, it is the most important starting point of a project, understanding how it affects each room — it is the KEY to why we feel a particular way in any space. With regard to bathrooms — natural light is so critical — and fixtures that mimic natural light, those using halogen bulbs, are always my preference."
Lighting Tips:
Be sure to choose a light that can has a high amount of wattage. This will provide strong enough light to see for close up grooming. Halogen lights provide the strongest lighting for bathrooms, and, although they are more expensive than incandescent lights, they will last quite a bit longer.
Fixtures that feature halogen bulbs typically have a lower-profile, and can feature a more contemporary design since the bulbs themselves are smaller than incandescent.
I f your bathroom lights are directly overhead they exacerbate those dark under-eye circles and nasal-labial folds on your face. When you choose lights that uplight or surround the mirror, your dark shadows disappear and Voila! You are looking at the real you: without every minor flaw exacerbated.As Hinkley lighting tips suggest: Ideally fixtures should be mounted on either side of a central mirror. This allows for light to be evenly distributed across your face. The fixtures should be mounted at eye level and approximately 36–40" apart. This helps to eliminate shadows under the eyes and chin.
Be creative: you don't have to stick to the regular vanity lights, there are many original ways to light your bathroom that actually will provide better light. Some ideas to start you off:

A mini chandelier pendant , is a hip idea to hang near a mirror rather than vanity lights. This ET2 chandelier is a unique beautiful one that reminds me of cinderella's glass slippers.
